This 5”x7” original watercolor painting tells the story of the native birds of the San Joaquin Marsh, a sanctuary created and operated by Irvine Ranch Water District. On a misty evening , wandering the solitary paths at the marsh edge, I witness a group of birds passing overhead, in the soft purple twilight, and find myself longing to fly away and join them, as they rest for the evening .
